projects that I have led and executed successfully

  • Delivery of a high power 18650 (> 6 minutes discharge) cell with >10% better performance than commercial state of the art
  • Delivery of a £4m Battery prototyping and R&D facility
  • £2M EU funded programme to develop, build and deliver a number of large (>3 kF) supercapacitors and low cost high energy lithium ion batteries to enable efficient energy management under an IoE infrastructure.
  • £5M programme to Ministry of Defence for the development and maturation of portable power solutions.
  • £1.5m UK Government (TSB, Technology Strategy Board) - funded programme in collaboration with ABSL (battery manufacturer) and Boeing (end user) to develop and deliver high rate battery prototypes (TRL 6) for APU start up.
  • EU Framework programme to develop a bespoke triangular battery based on QinetiQ’s high energy primary battery technology for a miniaturised sensor device to reliably detect falls in the elderly.
